Fatboy Slim (aka Norman Cook) has long been one of dance music's best loved super-DJs. But, as a producer, he's also a walking – or, rather, globetrotting – canon. Indeed, the Brit pioneered the hybrid style of big beat. In the '90s, big beat became the dominant dance sub-genre over house and techno and its stars fuelled a pre-'EDM' '90s electronica explosion in the US.
