For INXS, the 1983 US Festival marked a monumental moment early in their career. Fresh from Australia’s pub circuit, the band — including Tim Farriss — faced an audience estimated at around 200,000 fans. “I remember walking out onto the stage and seeing the crowd stretch into the distance, fading into smog—it looked endless,” Farriss recalls. “Somewhere in the chaos, I heard Michael exclaim, ‘F***** Hell.’ We were pumped, young, and nearing the end of our first three-month US tour.”
