Terry Riley's "Untitled Organ" from 1966 offers a rare glimpse into his
early trance music for organ and solo soprano saxophone,
moving through this perfect example of hypnotic interval and
repetition with a fluidity that is nothing less than remarkable.
"Dorian Reeds" uses tape loops (via his personal Revox reel-to-reel tape machines, or 'Time Lag Accumulators') to create a similar feel and is
no less incredible. A wonderful introduction to the man.
